Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, the loss of a life to violence is a wound that cuts through us all. When a public figure is taken in such a way, it is not only a tragedy for their family and loved ones, but also a sobering reminder of the fragility of civil discourse in our country.

I just saw in the news where the second debate between Trump and Biden has been cancelled. I know the first debate was a debacle in most people's eyes. I felt it went down pretty much as most of us expected. What I do not like is the fact that candidates can refuse to debate. I feel like the DNC and RNC should make that part of the rules for their nomination. The American people deserve to see the presidential candidates debate each other. I do feel like there are better ways to hold and maintain some decorum in the debates. If you want my vote you damn well better be prepared to debate what you will do if elected. The whole political system has turned into a us verses them mentality and the only real loser is us. (...)
