A Mission That Actually Matters

End of an era: hawkee.com closes

The dreaded day has finally arrived. Hawkee.com has closed. For years it was a valued resource for irc snippets. Sadly the past few years saw the site taken over by spam bots. I know efforts were made to buy the system but didn't seem to ever get very far. Several people also offered to moderate the site but again nothing came of it. Seeing another of the irc support sites go by the way side is very disappointing. I really hope all those snippets aren't lost forever.

Season 3 of Shoresy released.

Very few movies, shows, or any other media actually make me laugh out loud. However, Shoresy always manages to do so. Despite knowing next to nothing about hockey and having no interest in watching it, this show has me hooked. While I enjoyed LetterKenny, Shoresy truly stands out to me. You can watch the entire season on Hulu if you have a subscription. Definitely check it out!

Great Podcast Documentary About Theranos

Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. The story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye? How did the woman once heralded as “the next Steve Jobs” find herself facing criminal charges — to which she pleaded not guilty — and up to 20 years in jail? How did her technology, meant to revolutionize healthcare, potentially put millions of patients at risk? And how did so many smart people get it so wrong along the way?
