About this project
The IRCWX Website modernization project focused on refreshing and improving the public-facing website for IRCWX, a family-friendly live chat network. The goal was to make the site feel more modern, easier to navigate, and more visually consistent while keeping the existing ASP.NET MVC/Razor platform intact.
The project involved updating multiple pages across the site, including the home page, about page, help page, networks page, blogs page, account/login pages, registration pages, user settings pages, and staff/owner management areas. The design was rebuilt around a cleaner Bootstrap-based layout with modern cards, improved spacing, better typography, updated buttons, clearer form layouts, and responsive behavior for desktop and mobile users.
A major part of the work was improving usability and consistency across the site. Navigation was refined, footer links were updated, outdated options such as the old webchat client were hidden, page headers and content spacing were corrected, and several page-specific layout issues were fixed. The project also included updates to contact links, external URLs, alert behavior, profile/account forms, nickname creation pages, and owner/staff management screens.
The modernization kept the original backend structure and server-rendered Razor views while enhancing the front end with custom CSS, Bootstrap components, JavaScript, jQuery-based behavior, and Font Awesome icons. The result is a cleaner, more professional, and more user-friendly IRCWX website that better matches the identity of the chat network without requiring a complete platform rebuild.
