About this project
The Net-Bits / ircWx project focused on modernizing an existing live chat network website while preserving the structure and functionality of the original platform. The goal was to refresh the visual design, improve usability, and make the site feel more current without rebuilding the entire application from scratch.
The project included redesigning the main public-facing pages with a cleaner responsive layout, updated typography, improved navigation, and a more polished visual style. Bootstrap 5 was used to modernize the interface, while custom CSS was added to create a consistent theme across the site. Page sections such as the home page, network information, help pages, blogs, channel search, account pages, and user management areas were updated to better match the new design direction.
A major part of the work involved improving the user experience across both desktop and mobile views. This included refining card layouts, spacing, buttons, alerts, forms, menus, and content sections so the site felt more organized and easier to use. The navigation was also adjusted to better handle multiple sections, including moving less-used items into a “More” menu for a cleaner header.
The project used ASP.NET MVC with Razor CSHTML views, C#, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap 5, jQuery, Font Awesome, Google Fonts, and SQL-backed data where needed. The final result was a modernized, responsive web platform that retained the identity of the original ircWx chat network while giving it a cleaner, more professional, and more user-friendly appearance.
