Today the MSU bulldogs had a huge comeback win against their in-state rivals, the Ole Miss Rebels. It was a big game for MSU as a win would have made them a shoe in for a bowl bid for the first time since 2000. But bigger than that, a win would be against their biggest rival. Now i know many of you have a favorite college team, and you think your rivalry games are big too. Let me assure you they aren’t on par with this one. ESPN used to show the egg-bowl ( MSU vs OLE MISS ) every year on thanksgiving. It drew good ratings and huge crowds. You were guaranteed an eventful game as both sides hated each other. Unfortunately the powers that be over at ESPN decided to discontinue broadcasting the game, so it was moved to Friday. A DAY THAT I HAVE TO WORK! After a quick call to Dish Network to activate the local channels on our work tv i plopped my butt down in front of the office tv and watched my bulldogs go for the glory. After the first half i was pretty concerned. Ole Miss lead 14-0 at half time and the third quarter didn’t get any better. But as with every year during the egg bowl you better not count a team out until the very end. Stringing together a few good plays the bulldogs finally put a TD up on a rollout pass to the runningback Dixon who struggled most of the day running due to an overstacked defensive line. The Rebels quickly went 3 and out and I thought this is it. But no luck. Again the rebels got a chance but three and out it went. This time the bulldogs ran back the punt for a TD. Then after a big defensive stand and a couple key passes and a run by the QB the bulldogs kicked a field goal to win 17-14. It really was an amazing comeback. I think the biggest key was when the rebels decided to go for it on a 4th and one and failed. They were up 14-0 in the 4th quarter and they go for it. BONEHEAD but i love you for it. GO DAWGS!!!!!
With the ongoing process of deciding who I should vote for in the presidential race, i’ve decided to give my views on some of the bigger issues. They probably won’t come in any particular order of importance. My views are my own and I will always back them up against anyone that wants to question them. If for any reason you have a question or an opposing point to what I say, you can post a comment. Just remember I am very passionate in what i believe and have no problems expressing my thoughts. While I may not agree with your thoughts on the same issues, I will do my best to respect your opinions.
Yes! I finally got a mini vacation. It was only three days but it was a very nice three days. We left out on friday morning. It was a bit rainy most of the day but it wasn’t too bad. We arrived in Hot Springs around 4:30. After we checked in we took a walk down Central Ave. Almost everything of interest there is on Central Ave lol. But beware. Antique Row seems to close pretty early. Most of Friday was just walking around and seeing what was close to the Hotel. Saturday was a much better day. We got to see all the shops open and even got to take a duck boat ride ( which was my favorite lol ). It was much better than the carriage ride down by bob’s house. After a full day of seeing the sites and a quick frog molesting incident, we went out to eat. The place we chose seemed by the menu to be outstanding but when the food arrived it was anything but. One of the things i really enjoyed was just standing out on the balcony at night and watching people go up and down the street. The simple things amuse me I guess. The sites were beautiful and i’m glad I went. It was nice to get away from work and home for awhile. I’ll post some pics later.
