err0r.net

I have moved err0r.net to a new host. No more domain forwarding to tg007.net. It’s a stand alone now. Due to tg007 host being mysql 4.1.1 and the new host being v4.0 I didn’t copy the database over completely. As i don’t have shell access to tg007 i could do a convert to 40 mysqldump so I just moved it physically. If anyone has gone through this before you know 4.11 uses a different charset feature that doesn’t jive with mysql 4.0. Anyways the only thing I didn’t move was comments and users. As there were only 7 users I don’t see that as much of a problem. Same with comments. There were only a few. If you are interested in signing up to comment again you may do so. On a brighter note, I really like the new host :).

We are changing hosts again in the very near future. We have been with globat for over a year now. First I’ll say some good things about them. They have twenty four hour seven day a week live support. Is that enough for the good things? Cause that’s about it. The site suffers from frequent server resets. Uptime is awful. Load time makes me want to puke. When I complain they say they notice no slow load time when they visit the site. Which maybe true. The load time is so wacky. One minute it’s less than a sec. Next minute it’s well over 24 secs. Now they can claim it’s my coding ( funny how it’s the same on html only pages as well), but I can see the server load stats. They are hosting wayyyy too many sites on one server. All sharing the same mysql. It’s overloaded to say the least. They act like I can’t check these sort of things. Like I can’t view how many sites are hosted on the same server. Like I can’t view the load times. I really liked globat in the beginning and I truly believe they are a very dedicated company. They are constantly offering new/better features but if your site loads like old people screw it’s all worthless. So anyways, globat your days of hosting tg007.net are numbered.
