I have become addicted to poker. Watching poker on TV that is. More often than not my tv is tuned into the world series of poker on espn. Doesn’t seem to matter if I’ve seen the episode before. I am intrigued not with the game but rather the people and emotion. If you want reality tv then you can do no better than this show. In most cases the people have put up a pretty decent amount of money to enter with hopes of making bigger money. The field are grown massively over the past few years as the popularity of the show as grown. It amazes me how these people act. The raw emotion. I watch religiously. The other show I watch ( which honestly I like even more ) is high stakes poker on the gameshow network. This show is about a private game between some of the top/well known poker pros. Watching the egos and the outbursts really entertain me. I can’t say I have a real affinity for the game itself. I really don’t care much about Poker in itself, but watching these people play a game where each hand means so much and all the emotion that produces is wildly entertaining. As I write this I’m watching the 2009 WSP and Phil Hellmuth ( the poker brat ) is being featured. No surprise he just had a poker brat blow up. This guy just an ahole that it is amusing to watch. He is famously quoted as saying “well if it wasn’t for luck I would win everytime”. His poker outbursts are legendary in the poker world. I’ll end with a montage of some of his hissy fits.
Now that’s entertainment
